Guest Posting Guidelines

I do occasionally accept guest posts on erica.biz. But I’m going to be frank–your post probably isn’t good enough. And I don’t mean that unkindly–I mean I’m really picky. It takes me longer to edit a guest post than it does to write a blog post, so you need to send me the cream of the crop–one of the best posts you’ve ever written, anywhere. Here are the guidelines:

  1. Send me your post in HTML or text format, not Microsoft Word. If in HTML, which is preferred, please use the h2 tag for subheads.
  2. Add your bio in at the bottom, including a link to your site.
  3. Send a picture–at least 250px wide–that I can add to the post.
  4. Relevant topics include entrepreneurship, how to make money online in a non-scammy, (non-affiliate-link!) type of way, and mistakes you’ve made on your path to awesomeness.
  5. If you are an SEO or PR company doing this for a customer, don’t bother. I’m not a link farm.
  6. If your post is all about how great your company is, don’t bother. I don’t mind links to your company or website if they’re relevant. But the post should not be all about your business.
  7. Neither should the post be entirely about how great I am or how awesome my products are. I love flattery as much as anyone else. But a little goes a long way.
  8. No typos, no spelling mistakes, and no grammar mistakes. I don’t get paid well enough to be your editor.
