New to your website and find it is pretty awesome. Read your manifesto today (while at work in the cubicle – don’t tell). I recently just posted 25 reasons why I blog or why I started a blog. It was way longer than I expected.

Great post. Very inspiring. I’m also a techie who lived and worked in the silicon valley for a long time, but never felt that I was 100% fit into the culture there. I’ve loved to write since I was in my first grade. But, the drive to “get a real career” have kept me doing things I wasn’t 100% passionate about.

I finally started blogging last September. It is one of the best things I’ve ever done to myself. I’m learning so much about myself as I’m writing everyday. At the same time, it’s gratifying to be able to connect with others and help people in a small way.

I can totally identify with the journey you described in this post — I too have been a long-time reader of Steve Pavlina (although I never got the chance to meet him in person.) I turned to Steve’s posts when I feel down or discouraged. He has been a great inspiration.

I just found your blog today, and felt instantly connected to it. You blog has a good balance of being practice and being philosophical. Look forward to read more great posts from you.

@Cath: Definitely follow your instincts, even when the most money is seemingly not to be had that way. I could have waited a year and sold my business for $2 million. Or so I thought. Now I’m glad I sold when I did.

Thanks for this post. It’s good reading how someone else was able to attain visitors and success by following their passion. I try to write more often, and on one blog I’m able to write at least one post a day; on the other I write at least one post every 3 days. I continue to feel that if I write quality content and entertain every once in awhile that readership will grow, and success will come with it. We’ll see; nice job.
