I like the sound of those goals; having just bought a new LCD TV myself, I'd recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone. What surprised me is how much better the picture is, even on regular channels: I'd assumed that coming over digital cable (satellite, now) at regular TV resolution would mean the picture was much the same anyway - but it's a *lot* better on the LCD.

I could do with some furniture upgrades, too, plus more money and starting a proper blog of my own. It seems that last item will have to wait until after some server changes, though: I'm having problems with one of my current two servers, so anyone with helpful ideas or recommendations, please post them in the thread my name is linked to! (Rough plan: two servers, replicated MySQL between them holding the posts. Email may be trickier though...)

If you are going to get a new TV, don't go for plasma. LCDs are the way to go.

For maximum personal enjoyment... get a Wii! (They're supposedly going to allow you to use your DS as a controller in a future game.) :-)

The bookcase doesn't have to be a major expense --- an Ikea Billy is not the most stylish thing in the world, but it's not ugly either. Cost: $50.00, and an hour or less for two people to put the thing together (if one of them knows how to use a hammer and screwdriver). Which makes it roughly an order of magnitude less than Crate and Barrel.

One more goal for you: do more things you enjoy which make you happy.

Hiring more staff at Simpli to take more menial tasks off your shoulders will help you reach this goal quickly!
