In other words society expects guys to be idiots obsessed with power. It's not just western society either, eastern society has it's fair share of expecting guys to be idiotic and go for power(percieved) over strength(the true measure). IT is, unfortunately, still a very male dominated area. This means most of the 'ultra technical' types can be both socially inept and chauvanist.
