I’m back here in Indiana, visiting my parents, and already my mother refused to go to bed last night until we had a “plan” for what I wanted to do with my 4 days here. I flew back on Wednesday so I could spend Thursday (my parents’ normal day off) with my parents and spend Friday with a friend of mine I haven’t seen in a couple years, but my mother has decided to work Thursday and take Friday off instead. There was much stress last night as my mother (who wants to maximize time spent with me in 4 days) said “But we have to plan to go shopping!”
Ah, a return to my highly stressed-out childhood…just what I needed when I’m already overly-stressed with work. I think I’m becoming like my dad… “Yes, Judy, whatever you want… just don’t ask any more questions!“

Bummer. Detailed plans tend to interfere in the fun. I find it much more enjoyable to know the gist of what you are going to do — maybe shopping — and then sorta improvising from that.:)

You know some of us have to live here (well, not Ind, but close enough)
