Snaller, if you know where to look, there is one out there somewhere.

Erica, kudos on the great write-up. Sadly many things I am lacking in, but I working forward to being the new man that I want to be.

Thanks again.

Well, thank you for sharing, SlashChick. As a married man about to become a father (her due date is in three days), I can say that if I hadn't paid attention to my grooming habits when I had met her, my wife would not have become my wife. Specifically:

1) Before I met my wife, my hair was all the way down to between my shoulder blades. Long and very thick. Because of my body type (I am Asian), in retrospect I really didn't look all that great with long hair. It took a buddy of mine to convince me to cut my hair and go with the corporate/business-type look. Otherwise I might still be writing to you as a single, Asian male.

2) Keeping in mind the previous point about being Asian, I also used to hate shaving. Really, really hated shaving, despite the fact that I could never grow a full beard (or a Fu Manchu). Somehow it all seemed like a big waste of time - until I started doing it regularly and witnessed a marked transformation of attitudes of the young women in my life. I started getting calls and attention. Happily, I took that as a sign that maybe regular cleaning habits could be a Good Thing (tm).

That's all for now.

Yeah, that was helpful and everything, but there's still some stuff you didn't cover that I need to know. All this advice is always generic and no one ever gives you useful real-world examples/answers that can be applied to real-life.

Like should I just start wearing my Star Fleet Lt. Commanders's uniform on the first date, or what? Because when I break out my "mess dress" for the third date, the chicks always seem to freak out for some reason. Are they holding out for a Captain, or what?

And why did I get yelled at for giving my girlfriend a custom built SCSI driver for her birthday? I was under the impression handmade gifts were supposed to mean more, but I guess not. I mean, c'mon... what's more romantic than reducing latency of large file relocations for someone else?

Also, I try and be a gentleman on the first date as well, but I never get any credit for it. I will usually let the girl grab the red armor and quad damage first... sometimes I'll even tell them where they are. And I wait at least 5 deathmatch rounds so she can get warmed up before I start bunny hopping or running her down with the gauntlet and they saying, "pwnt nub", and yet for some reason *I'm* the bad guy all of a sudden.

TIA
