I'm not trying to judge him, just explain why I am not that way. FG tried to warn me about this so long ago, and I didn't listen to him. I had to learn the hard way not to get hearts involved unless you really mean it. FG and I talked about this at length today. We agreed that even if you both agree that it's casual, the other person may just be saying that to take whatever he/she can get from you. Do you really ever know whether that person's heart isn't involved, or whether that person is just saying that so he/she can have a chance with you? That's a tough one. I have had a fair amount of casual relationships in the past, and most of them turned out okay in the end. Again, though, is it worth it to risk hearts and friendships just for a couple nights of fun? Personally, I'd rather have that person as a lifelong friend than risk getting involved in a casual relationship where we both have a huge chance of getting hurt for such a small payoff. If it was me I would not be quick to pass judgement on your current friend, but that's a harrowing tale you tell about your own experience.
